Monoblade 26-29" compatible rigid fork.
Carbon carrier floating disc rotors.
Titanium-Carbon 29" frame.
Carbon/Kevlar Ultralight Lefty adaptor.
Lucy is perhaps the most visually striking rigid fork money can buy. But under her CNC aluminum-carbon fiber dress, and her titanium jewelery, Lucy hides an even more unique soul: Under 700g, loads of lateral stiffness and fully adjustable geometry. Most people like her looks. Those who know the business love her moves.
Lucy is a unique blend of technology, craftmanship and engineering. Starting from scratch allowed us to create a fork that offers the rider the advantage of making the front end of the bike fully adjustable to get no less than the perfect steering feel. We tried and tested this fork until we got the highest lateral stiffness for a point and shoot riding style through bends. And yes, we also got to make it look stunning.
No noise, no distortion, just pure accuracy. For the really fast paced, a light rotor is as important as a rotor that performs even in the hardest conditons. Vinyl`s carbon fiber carrier keeps the weight low, but its stainless steel brake rotor offers a no -compromise braking power. Add the self aligning and squeal and vibration characteristics of a floating rotor and you`ll understand why Vinyl is going to be the next top of the charts.
The floating design with optimized interface deals with vibrations and warping, and the carbon fiber carrier ensures a high stiffnes to weight ratio and a dimensional thermal stability unreachable for metals, which makes for a warping free disc with a consistent response even when the going gets tough. That´s high fidelity.
Titanium lugs and carbon tubing. This handmade frame is a tribute to the racing machines of the good old days. Yet it sports the latest features such as tapered head tube, BB 30 shell and PM brakes. And its 73º head angle and its 430mm stays speak volumes about how unconventional BCB´s say on 29ers is.
Not only is this frame a tribute to the past. It is a new way into the future. We wanted to build a titanium frame that faced all of its drawbacks. By keeping a full titanium tail, we achieved the unique feel many riders can´t get enough of, whereas by using carbon main tubes we improved the steering and pedaling stiffness. Our newly developed lug-tube interface and the optimized- low void high modulus carbon tubing keep the weight low and make for a stiff and rebuildable kit. As an experienced rider you´ve always had this in the back of your head, didn´t you?
Many frame, fork and stem choices, many of them incompatible. 12 Bar is the no-compromise solution. It makes possible to assemble a BCB Lucy or Cannondale Lefty fork on virtually any frame out there. It also allows to use a standard 1-1/8" lightweight stem on a Cannondale frame. But not only that: This is the lightest and safest steerer money can buy due to the carbon fiber optimized arrangement, the built in Kevlar shock absorbing layer and the CNC carved 7075T6 aluminum bushings.
When it comes to weight savings, safety is the limit. Safety was the main concern when designing this steerer. Therefore we designed 12 Bar starting from a Kevlar layer that releases the carbon fiber from the task of absorbing shocks. This made possible a fiber arrangement that is fully oriented towards strenght and stiffness. The outer layer improves the behaviour against clamping forces from fork and stem.
